We are happy to tell all of you that our power upgrade at the building has been completed! All of our inspections and work has been passed by all the appropriate authorities (City of Hollywood and FPL).

Please keep in mind that we still have work to finish up and to close up the meter deck.
PLEASE remain and be mindful of the work area, especially around the first floor laundry room.

Please be sure to KEEP THE KIDS AWAY FROM THE WORK AREA!
IT IS STILL AN ACTIVE WORK AREA WITH HOT AND LIVE ELECTRICAL LINES.

This is a reminder that FPL will be working with our electrical contractor ALL DAY MONDAY!

Please be mindful of the work area and especially around the first floor laundry room. Please be sure to KEEP THE KIDS AWAY FROM THE WORK AREA! THIS IS AN ACTIVE WORK AREA WITH HOT AND LIVE ELECTRICAL LINES.

PLEASE USE EXTREME CAUTION!

THIS UPGRADE WILL HAVE A TOTAL DISCONNECT TO THE ENTIRE 2521 BUILDING. THE POWER IS GOING TO BE DISCONNECTED BY FPL AT 7:00 AM OR BEFORE.The expected ESTIMATED TOTAL work for the day is scheduled from 7:00 AM until 7:00 PM. Please plan your day accordingly. If you work from home, we highly suggest you advise your employer that there are going to be times of intermittent power outages. If you need other types of assistance, please make a plan for the day.

THIS UPGRADE WILL HAVE A TOTAL DISCONNECT TO THE ENTIRE 2521 BUILDING. THE POWER IS GOING TO BE DISCONNECTED BY FPL AT 7:00 AM OR BEFORE. The expected ESTIMATED TOTAL work for the day is scheduled from 7:00 AM until 7:00 PM. We will be working WITH FPL to ensure that power works during the overnight hours.

UPON OUR WORK BEING COMPLETED, FPL WILL RESTORE THE POWER. ONLY FPL CAN DO THIS!

The next upgrade will have a total disconnect to the ENTIRE 2521 BUILDING. We are waiting for FPL for this part. The expected downtime is from 7:00AM and is scheduled to last until 7:00PM. We will be working to ensure that power works during the overnight hours.

Please plan your day accordingly. If you work from home, we highly suggest you advise your employer that there are going to be times of intermittent power outages.

TO ALL 2521 LINCOLN STREET RESIDENTS

Hello everyone!

Due to new 2025 insurance regulations, PLEASE read the information and notice below

SAFETY FIRST!

Please be advised that within the next THIRTY (30) days, we will begin a major upgrade to the electrical meter room, on the first floor, which will service the entire 2521 LINCOLN STREET building. We will be working with Florida Power & Light (FPL) and Fuse Electric Inc. (Contractor). The upgrade is to replace existing main breakers to the newest approve products for the entire building. This project is estimated to last up to 14 days, but could be longer. Of course, we will keep you ALL updated.

It is very important that everyone understands, during the work, they are going to be intermittent power outages. This is to ensure the safety of all the people involved. These power outages can last for different periods of time throughout the day. We will be working to ensure that power works during the overnight hours. Please plan your day accordingly. If you work from home, we suggest you advise your employer that they are going to be times of intermittent power outages.

Additionally, this will be an active work area at the first floor, laundry room! Please avoid the area as best as possible, especially with your children. Please do NOT interrupt, interfere, gather, or loiter near the active work area, as we want to avoid any electrical accidents. We understand the need for access to the laundry machines, but please be considerate of the professionals and the work area. This is for everyone’s safety!

Over the past few weeks we have found that the elevator has become a place for trash and waste. This will not be tolerated in anyway! We have found more than once human urine on the floor! This is beyond disgusting! Therefore, please be aware that we will be installing new cameras for the elevator, any persons found to be abusing the usage of, interior of, exterior of, or general common space of the elevator and its equipment, will be fined at amounts starting at $250.00. Remember you are also responsible for any guests you may have. Any guest that you may have over and is found to be responsible for any acts, will result in fines to YOU along with possible eviction, and your guest(s) will be trespassed from the property.

NEW FIRE SAFETY PRODUCT – CLICK TO READ

In honor of Fire Prevention month, we will be placing in ALL apartments a compact fire fighting spray. This spray is similar in size to a Lysol can and is meant to help put out small fires in the kitchen, trash, electronic, or paper.
This is NOT to replace a regular fire extinguisher in the event of a greater emergency.

Tenant Education and Inspection Program on Safe Electrical Usage

To all residents of Jade-Lynn Apartments: As per our insurance carrier, we are required to provide you with a program to help educate you on safe electrical usage. To help maintain the safety of each unit, we will be inspecting for improper electrical usage monthly at the same time as monthly pest control. We will notify you directly if there are any issues. Please read these FAQs to common questions and answers to help educate you.

Electrical Safety Reminder: Extension Cords, Outlet Extenders/Expanders & Power Strips – FAQ’s

  1. Why is overusing extension cords and power strips dangerous? Overloading these devices can lead to overheating, electrical fires, and equipment damage. They’re designed for temporary use, not as a permanent wiring solution.
  2. Can I plug one power strip into another (“daisy chaining”)? NEVER! This is a major fire hazard and a common cause of electrical fires. Plugging one power strip into another exceeds the power rating and can quickly lead to overheating.
  3. Is it safe to use extension cords as permanent wiring? No. Extension cords are meant for temporary use only. If you need more outlets long-term, have a licensed electrician install them safely.
  4. How many devices can I plug into a power strip? Only plug in low-power electronics like lamps, phones, or computers. Avoid high-wattage items like: Space heaters, Microwaves, Coffee makers, Refrigerators. These appliances should be plugged directly into a wall outlet.
  5. What are the signs of an overloaded extension cord or power strip?
    • Warm or hot to the touch
    • Buzzing sounds
    • Flickering lights
    • Tripped circuit breakers
    • Burn marks or melting plastic
    • Unplug immediately if you notice any of these.
  6. What’s the difference between a power strip and a surge protector? A power strip just gives you more outlets, whereas, a surge protector adds protection against voltage spikes (e.g. during storms or power surges). Still, neither should be overloaded or used for high-power devices.
  7. Are longer extension cords more dangerous? Yes. Longer cords have more resistance, which can cause voltage drops and heat buildup—especially if they’re thin or cheaply made. Always use the shortest cord necessary and choose the right gauge (thickness) for the job.
  8. What are some safe practices?
    • Use cords with UL/ETL safety labels
    • Keep cords untangled and uncoiled (coiling traps heat)
    • Never run cords under rugs or furniture
    • Unplug when not in use
    • Never modify cords or plugs
  9. What should I do in case of an electrical fire?
    • Unplug the device if safe.
    • Use a Class C fire extinguisher (never water) AND FIRE BLANKET
    • Evacuate and CALL 911
